Mexican fintech Clip raised $500M in a new funding round, reaching a valuation of more than $2.5B.

Founded in 2012 by Adolfo Babatz, Clip initially helped cash-dependent merchants accept card payments. Since then, it has expanded into lending, software, and business management tools. The new wallet marks its first major push into the consumer market.

Clip will use the funding to support the wallet’s rollout and expand its financial services platform. The round remains subject to regulatory approval, and the company has not disclosed the participating investors.

Clip surpassed a $1B valuation in 2021 after raising $250M in a SoftBank-led round. In 2024, Morgan Stanley Tactical Value invested an additional $100M in the company.
